Responsible Use

Effective date: 17 May 2026

1. Why we care

RankTrade is built for fun, learning, and friendly competition. The Service is skill-based and is not gambling — but we recognise that any activity involving money, real-time markets, and competitive pressure can become unhealthy for some people. We want you to use RankTrade in a way that fits your life and your means.

2. A few principles to play by

  • Only fund your account with money you can comfortably afford to spend on entertainment — never money you need for living costs, debts, or commitments to others.
  • Treat entry fees the way you would treat the cost of any other paid leisure activity. The fee is the cost of competing, not an investment that owes you a return.
  • Take breaks. Long uninterrupted sessions can lead to fatigue and worse decisions.
  • If you find yourself chasing losses, increasing entry sizes after a bad run, or playing to escape stress, step away.

3. Tools we provide

  • Deposit limits. Set a daily, weekly, or monthly cap on how much you can deposit. Once a limit is in force, an increase takes effect only after a cool-off period; a decrease takes effect immediately.
  • Entry-fee limits. Cap how much of your balance you can spend on entry fees in a given period.
  • Reality checks. Opt-in reminders that surface after a chosen period of activity, showing how long you have been on the platform.
  • Time-out. Pause your account for a chosen length of time (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days). During a time-out you cannot deposit, enter competitions, or trade; you can still withdraw and close your account.
  • Self-exclusion. Close your account for a longer period — six months, twelve months, or permanently — during which you may not return under the same identity. We will refuse new accounts we can reasonably link to a self-exclusion.
You can find these controls in your account settings under "Responsible Use". Some of the features above may be rolled out progressively; if a tool you need is not yet available in-product, contact support and we will apply the equivalent restriction manually.

4. Recognising the signs

The following are common signs that activity may be getting out of hand. None of them, by itself, means there is a problem — but if several apply to you, consider pausing and using one of the tools above.

  • Spending more time or money on the platform than you intended.
  • Lying to family, friends, or yourself about how much you play.
  • Borrowing money to keep competing.
  • Feeling restless or irritable when you cannot play.
  • Chasing losses with bigger entries or bigger leverage.
  • Neglecting work, study, or relationships because of the Service.

5. Where to get help

If competing on RankTrade — or any similar activity — is affecting your wellbeing, please consider reaching out to a professional or one of the support services in your country.

  • BeGambleAware (UK): begambleaware.org — confidential helpline and chat.
  • Gambling Therapy (international): gamblingtherapy.org — free online support in many languages.
  • National Council on Problem Gambling (US): ncpgambling.org — helpline 1-800-GAMBLER.
  • UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention — for general mental-health support, including stress and addictive behaviour, dial 800 11 11 (UAE).

6. Talk to us

You can request any of the limits or exclusions described above — or simply ask for a confidential conversation — by emailing support@ranktrade.io. We treat these requests with the highest priority.
