Terms of Service

Effective date: 17 May 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and RankTrade ("RankTrade", "we", "us", or "our"), the operator of the website at ranktrade.ioand any related applications, APIs, or services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, depositing funds, entering a competition, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

RankTrade is an educational simulated-trading platform. The Service provides skill-based competitions in which participants make simulated trades using real market data. No real-money trading, brokerage, or investment service is provided.

2. Eligibility

To open an account and use the Service, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher);
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract;
  • Not be located in, or a resident of, a jurisdiction where use of the Service would be unlawful or restricted;
  • Not be a sanctioned person or located in a sanctioned territory;
  • Use the Service only for personal, non-commercial purposes unless we expressly authorise otherwise.

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate access at our discretion if we believe these eligibility requirements are not met.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the information you provide, for the security of your credentials, and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. You may not create more than one account, share your account, or transfer it to another person. We may require identity verification at any time, including before processing withdrawals or paying prizes.

4. What the Service is — and is not

Educational, skill-based competitions

RankTrade lets users compete in trading challenges using simulated balances against live market prices. Rankings depend on the participant's skill in interpreting markets, sizing positions, and managing risk. The Service is intended for education, practice, and entertainment.

Not a brokerage or investment service

RankTrade is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, exchange, custodian, or financial institution. We do not execute real-money trades, hold customer assets for investment, or provide any financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Nothing on the Service constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. Trading on real markets carries substantial risk; the Service is not designed as preparation for live trading and should not be relied upon as such.

Not gambling

Outcomes on the Service are determined predominantly by the participant's skill. The Service is not a game of chance, sportsbook, casino, or lottery, and we do not market it as one. Even so, we provide tools to help users use the Service responsibly (see our Responsible Use page).

5. Competitions and prizes

Entry fees

Some competitions require an entry fee. The fee, format, duration, scoring method, prize pool, and payout structure are disclosed before you confirm entry. By confirming entry, you authorise us to debit the fee from your in-platform balance.

Prize pool

Prize pools are funded from a portion of collected entry fees, from sponsor contributions, or from RankTrade promotional credits, as disclosed for each competition. RankTrade may retain a service fee from each prize pool to operate the platform; the service fee is disclosed in the competition details.

Determination of winners

Winners are determined automatically based on the published scoring rules of each competition. Decisions on disqualification, ties, scoring disputes, and prize forfeiture are made by RankTrade and are final, subject only to the dispute-resolution clause below.

Payout

Prizes are credited to the winner's in-platform balance once the competition is settled. Withdrawal is subject to the Wallet section and to identity verification where applicable. Unclaimed prizes may be forfeited after a reasonable period (no less than ninety (90) days).

Taxes

You are solely responsible for any taxes that apply to entry fees, prizes, or other amounts you receive from the Service. We may withhold amounts where required by applicable law.

6. Wallet, deposits and withdrawals

The in-platform wallet records balances denominated in US Dollars (USD) at the cent level. Deposits and withdrawals are processed through third-party payment service providers ("PSPs"), including cryptocurrency processors. The PSP's own terms and fees apply to each transaction.

  • Crypto deposits are credited after confirmation by the relevant network. On-chain transactions are irreversible.
  • We may set minimums, maximums, and limits per transaction or per period.
  • We may delay, hold, or refuse a deposit or withdrawal where we have a reasonable concern about fraud, AML/CTF compliance, sanctions, or breach of these Terms.
  • The in-platform balance is a record of funds we hold for you, not a bank deposit; it does not earn interest and is not insured by any deposit-protection scheme.

7. Acceptable use

You must not, and must not attempt to:

  • Use bots, scripts, scrapers, headless browsers, or any automated means to participate in competitions or access the Service;
  • Operate more than one account, share an account, or collude with other participants;
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the Service except as permitted by law;
  • Use the Service to launder money, evade sanctions, finance terrorism, or commit any other unlawful activity;
  • Exploit bugs, latency, mispricing, or any error in our systems or third-party feeds;
  • Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it.

Detailed examples and our enforcement approach are described in our Acceptable Use Policy.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account, void disputed competition results, freeze your balance, or withhold prizes if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, attempted to abuse the Service, or that doing so is necessary to comply with law or protect other users.

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@ranktrade.io. Some obligations survive termination, including liability, dispute resolution, and any duty to settle outstanding entries.

9. Market data and intellectual property

Market data displayed on the Service is sourced from third-party providers and is provided "as is" for informational and educational purposes only. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or availability. You may not redistribute, republish, or commercialise the market data.

All trademarks, logos, software, text, graphics, and other content on the Service are owned by RankTrade or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for the purposes set out in these Terms.

10. User content

You retain ownership of any content you submit (e.g., display name, comments). By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and process it for the operation of the Service. You confirm you have the right to grant that licence and that the content is not unlawful, infringing, or offensive.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. You use the Service at your own risk.

Nothing on the Service is investment, tax, or legal advice. Past performance of a strategy or symbol is not indicative of future results. Real-world trading carries substantial risk of loss.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RankTrade and our officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or opportunity, whether based on contract, tort, statute, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you paid to us in the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD 100).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RankTrade and our officers, employees, and affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms; material changes will be communicated by reasonable means (such as in-app notice or email) before they take effect. Your continued use after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the DIFC-LCIA Arbitration Rules, which are deemed to be incorporated by reference. The seat of arbitration shall be the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC); the language of the arbitration shall be English; and the number of arbitrators shall be one. Nothing in this section limits a party's right to seek urgent injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer-law rules grant you a non-waivable right to bring claims locally, this clause does not affect those rights.

16. General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with any documents we expressly incorporate by reference (Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Risk Disclosure, Refund Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Responsible Use Policy), are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
  • No waiver. Failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Notices. We may give notices through the Service or by email to the address on file. You may give notices to us at legal@ranktrade.io.
